⚠️ A White-Knuckle Passage: The Bridge Clearance

October 27th 2025

The departure excitement was briefly replaced by a collective, heart-stopping anxiety. To reach the open ocean, the Chasing Destiny had to navigate a critical moment: passing beneath a fixed bridge with practically zero margin for error.

Captain Greg slowed the powerful catamaran to a crawl. The crew stared upward, all conversation ceasing. The mast height stood at a daunting 64 feet, but the addition of the antenna meant the entire structure reached nearly 65.5 feet above the waterline. The water gauge read a chilling 64 feet of vertical clearance under the bridge structure.

It was a gamble, a true white-knuckle test of seamanship and faith.

Every eye was fixed on the towering masthead. The entire crew—Greg, Brandy, Katniss, Evie, and Doug—held their breath, listening intently for any ominous sound of scraping or cracking. The slow progress felt excruciatingly long. Then, a faint, metallic tap… tap…echoed down from above. It was the antenna gently tapping the concrete structure.

A collective wave of relief washed over them as the boat glided into the clear. A roar of cheers erupted on deck. They had made it!
